Little Bird and Petrichor (with audio)

Hey everyone! I decided (with the help of one of my most astute followers, Huguette!) to put these short poems on here a bit more frequently. Hopefully I can add them every couple of days rather than once a week.

(The prompt words are bolded.)

Feedback, suggestions and comments are ALWAYS welcome.Β

Little Bird

Little bird, little bird

at my windowsill…

Let me look at your

garish feathers,

full of frill.

Let me hear you sing

sweet soliloquies.

Please

be still with me,

stay for awhile

& keep me company.

Lonely likes lonely, only.

And she’s the only

who visits me.

Petrichor

She loved the petrichor*

of the Earth

after she drank herself in.

The warmth

of her core

would rise

like a sweet dewy

symphony

written to the beat

of every

raindrop

steeped into

her history.

The sweet succulent smell

would overwhelm

her

with peace

and tranquility.

*Petrichor (pronounced 2 different ways, apparently)

  1. β€œWith the help of” β€œAstute”? I didn’t do anything my dear, what help? πŸ€” and I had to Google Astute πŸ˜‚
Appreciate you consider me this way ❀ I just give my opinion honestly that’s it😊😊 and like this you can post more than once per week and we can enjoy more 😊
Lovely poems and not so much words to add of course about the writing and the audio, but I loved the sentence β€œLonely likes lonely only”…and of course both poems are amazing and full of emotions ❀❀
    Have a great day πŸ€—πŸ’–

    1. There are two of these comments! This is what you must have meant by pasting them. LOL! You suggested I post them more often, and I think it was a great suggestion (I make sure credit is always given were it is deserved!) I can’t get the emoji’s to paste again! So stupid. (Inserts hearts, hugs and happy faces!)
I’m glad you liked that line. I love it too.

  3. Such a pleasure to have two poems that are a different topic and to be able to hear you branching out. I think we do so much better when we try and explore how we can write on a range of subjects. On a different note, I like the updated photograph πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
