Broken Liberty
Bell of Liberty:
Cracked.
Broken.
A relic.
A requiem of freedom
of what we used to ring.
Have we forsaken the poor?
Have we built too many walls
without doors?
Have we forgotten
all humans
deserve
to be free?
Ring, bell, ring.
Awaken.
I am broken and I still sing.
This is so powerful “cracked” “broken” “walls with no doors”
I will stop here because my opinion in this liberty is not so appealing
Beautiful poem and so powerful 👌👌❤️

I like the tackling of more serious issues, showing your wider embracing of care and compassion. The Liberty Bell analogy is a good introduction. I hope you will come back to issues like this in the future. 🙂 🙂

Thank you! I hope to do just that. I think the trick/struggle is finding the right balance that doesn’t offend someone else’s beliefs, but rather causes them to pause and think about how things could be different–possibly even better–if they question those beliefs and what they’ve been told to believe. Thank you for reading and your comment. 🙂 🙂

I agree dear poet. No walls and no doors. Lead with concern, kindness and listen. Every life had value. A amazing poem.

I did enjoy and I pray daily. To send food, water and medicine to places in need. Great kindness can heal old wounds and create new hope. You are welcome dear Poet.
