Anomaly (2 versions)

(This was a fun challenge to use both the words ‘cosmic’ and ‘anomaly’ in a poem. I enjoyed it so much that I wrote two of them.)

O may the cosmic world

have mercy on my soul

May my muse find me

as I wander

the universe

longing to escape

my prison of lonely

May he be

the anomaly

I’ve always craved him to be

May the planets align

inside my poetry

May I be forgiven

for all the things I’ve done

waiting for him

In a cosmic thunder

she cried herself asunder

Help me, my darling

I’m broken

Mend me

Tend to my amatory needs

My body screams for your release

Take these chains and give me reprieve please

You are the anomaly I crave

Save me from my pain, my darling

Help piece me back together

gently
